2003 Christmas Ornament  -  The ornament was stitched on 32 count Pearled Barley from Lakeside Linens. The stitch design size on the model is 3 1/2” x 4 3/8” . Cording was made with the DMC 309 and the DMC 676 making a candy cane twist effect and hand stitched around the ornament. Remember to make enough cording for the loop at the top of the ornament. The finished size of the ornament is 3 3/4 inches wide by 5 1/8 inches high.
Acorn Biscornu -  This wool appliqué and surface embroidery kit comes with all the supplies to create the biscornu.  The kit includes all the finishing materials and 2 pieces of 32 count Lambswool-Wichelt.  Wool Juniper, Palomino, and Coco from Weeks Dye Works.  Thread DMC, Coco from Weeks Dye Works and Dried Thyme and Flax from The Gentle Art.  Design size approximately 2" x 2".
Acorn Box and Accessories -  This kit comes with hand painted wooden shaker box.  Box size 5" x 4" width and 2 1/4" height.  Supplies included in the kit  are as follows:  Thread from The Gentle Art-Dried Thyme, Maple Syrup, and Lambswool.  Wool from Weeks Dye Works-Juniper, Camel, and Gingerbread HB.  Bits and Bobs-one Vintage Mother of Pearl Button.

 Needleworker will need to supply Heavy weight Heat and Bond and a #26 sharp needle to finish the accessories.  Templates with stitching and finishing instructions are included with the kit.

Acorn Motif Strawberry stitched on 35/36 count Strathaven Linen from Access Commodities using fibers from Pearsall’s.  Finishing instructions included with the chart packet.
Acorn Pin Pillow The model was stitched on 32 count Country French Café Mocha from Wichelt.  The threads used on the model are from  The Thread Gatherer (TTG), Gloriana (G) and The Gentle Art (TGA).  Design size width  142 threads, height 140 threads.

Anniversary Ornament 2003  -  The model was stitched on 32 count Black Forest from Lakeside Linens. The threads used on the model are Au Ver A Soie from Access Commodities and DMC metallic thread. The beads are Mill Hill Petite glass beads 42010 from Gay Bowles Sales, Inc.

All the stitching on the model was done in Cross Stitch over two with two strands of the color indicated on the chart.

Autumn Surprise -  The Thread Gatherer-Sheep’s Silk—Chartreuse SPS 074, Dark Moss SPS 068, Rusty Amber SPS 061 and Periwinkle SPS 060 and The Gentle Art-Sampler Threads- Dark Chocolate were used for the specialty stitching.
Bee Scissor Fob - The fob is 1.5" x 1.5" in size.  The model was stitched with the following threads Poinsettia, Gold Leaf, Dark Chocolate, Ohio Lemon Pie by The Gentle Art  and Bijous Tiger Eye by Access Commodities.  Linen used for the model was 32 count vintage Pearled Barley-by Lakeside Linens.
Believe-The model was stitched on 32 count Navy Bean by Lakeside Linens.  Threads by The Gentle Art and Access Commodities.   

The Chase-Designing Ladies 2007 Casket-  This casket was stitched on 32 count Vintage Tundra by Lakeside Linens with Au Ver A Soie from Access Commodities and Glorianna Threads.  The stitching instructions only are available from Dames of the Needle/Finger work.   Photography © Michael McCormick - M3 Photographic 713.782.3686.   The finishing instruction are from Judy Odell www.justathought.net 

I want to thank Judy Odell for once again including me in the designing Ladies project.  I fortunate to be included with this dynamic group.

Also please note-that at no time were any animals harmed in any of the scenes.  The bunny goes on to live a very long and prosperous life, as does the dog, the swans and cygnets.  There is an unconfirmed rumor that the hunter has become a vegetarian.

 

Christmas Angel IThe Model was stitched on 32 count Vintage Maple Syrup-Lakeside Linens. The threads used on the model are from Gloriana, The Gentle Art  and DMC.

Ewe Among FlowersThe model was stitched on 32 count Vintage Examplar linen from Lakeside Linens (design count 280 X 190) and with threads from The Gentle Art.  
Fleur De Lis and Acorn Scissor Case - stitched on 35/36 count Strathaven Linen from Access Commodities using fibers and seed pearls from Access Commodities and Paillettes from Kreinik.  Finishing instructions included in with the chart pack.
Folk Bird Tin Folk Bird Tin was stitched on 32 count Lambswool by Wichelt linen using fibers from The Gentle Art, Olde Willow Stitchery and DMC.  The original was finished using an Altoid Ginger tin.  Finishing instructions are included with the instructions.  
German Deer Pynpillow -  The model was graciously stitched by Barbara Waid with threads from Weeks Dye Works (WDW) on 32 count Country French—Café Mocha from Wichelt Imports. The Honeysuckle on the front of the pynpillow was stitched in Rice Stitch with one strand of the fiber. The rest of the front was stitched in Cross Stitch with two strands of the color indicated on the chart. The back of the pynpillow was stitched in Cross Stitch with two strands of the fiber indicated on the chart.
German Lion and Stag Scissor Fobs -  The models were graciously stitched by Ona Petrizio with threads from Weeks Dye Works and DMC on 32 count Country French—Café Mocha from Wichelt Imports.

The body of the deer and the lion were stitched in Smyrna Cross stitch with one strands of Tiger’s Eye. All the Ecru on the fobs were stitched in Rice Stitch over two with one strand of the fiber. The rest of the fobs were stitched in Cross Stitch with two strands of the Tiger’s Eye.


German Pyncushions - This  was stitched on Natural Brown 35 count  linen from Wichelt Imports and Au Ver A Soie.  Stuffed with Georgia grown sheep wool.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

German Pyn Purse - The model was stitched  with Au Ver A Soie from Access Commodities and Natural Brown 35 count Linen from Wichelt Imports. The vintage button supplied with the chart is from Finger Work’s private stash. The Pyn Purse was stitched in Cross Stitch using one strand of the silk over two linen threads.
German Scysor Fob - The models were stitched with Au Ver A Soie from Access Commodities and Natural Brown 35 count Linen from Wichelt Imports.

Isabelle's Valentines Purse - This purse was designed for my daughter, Isabelle, at her request to have something in which to take her Valentines to school. The purse was not constructed to carry heavy items, but if you wish to use it for more than carrying your “Valentines” or small items, there are suggestions to make the piece a little more sturdy.
Jack Cat - stitched on 32 count Lambswool by Wichelt using threads from The Gentle Art, Access Commodities, and DMC.  The design size 3 5/8”w x 3 1/8”h.  Instructions to finish this piece as a basket tag are included with the chart packet.

Mending Day AccessoriesA pin pillow and bag stitched on 32 count Country French Latte from Wichelt. The threads used for the model are from The Gentle Art (TGA), DMC and The Thread Gatherer’s Silk ‘N Colors (SNC).

Miguel's Tooth Fairy Bag - Yep, after designing one for my daughter,  I could not leave out my son even though he has a ways to go before he needs this bag!

The model was stitched on 32 count Belfast Platinum from Wichelt. The fibers used for the model are from The Gentle Art (TGA), DMC, Gloriana Threads (GT) and The Thread Gatherer’s Silk ‘N Colors (SNC).
Pomegranate Case - a wool appliqué project that uses Weeks Dye Works threads and wool.  The kit comes with all of the supplies to complete the project- thread, button, and wool.
Pumpkin John - The possibilities are endless with Mr. John.  You can appliqué him to a treat bag or frame him for you holiday displays.  Pumpkin John is stitched on 32 count Lambswool linen from Wichelt.  Threads from The Gentle Art, Soie D' Alger-Access Commodities and Silk'N Colors-The Thread Gatherer.  Cross Stitch over two with Back Stitches outlining parts of Mr. John.  Finishing instructions are included with the chart. Design size 3 5/8”w x 3 1/8”h.
Pumpkin Pin Wool Applique - This is a pattern for this pin.  The instructions include a pattern to make the pin and the information needed to pick wool colors and threads to complete the project
Red Bird Pynpillow - The model was graciously stitched by Barbara Waid with threads from Weeks Dye Works (WDW) on 32 count Country French—Café Mocha from Wichelt Imports.
Shaker Pincushion - stitched on 32 count Navy Bean from Lakeside Linens using threads from Olde Willow Stitchery and Shaker box from Sudberry.  The box liner can be taken out and used as a ruler.  It will be accurate if stitched on 32 count linen.
Springtime Purse - wool appliqué kit that includes all of the wool, thread, Vintage Mother of Pearl buttons to complete the project.
Strawberry Accessories Part 1 - As the title states the first in a series using a strawberry motif.  This chart has a Needle case with a verse to use to stitch for a gift for a friend.  There is also a second verse that can be stitched if the case is for the stitcher themselves.  

There is also a stitched strawberry that can be filled with wool to keep the rest of your needles in.  There are instructions to finish both of the pieces in the chart.  These accessories were stitched on Strathaven Natural Linen using Au Ver A Soie thread.  

Strawberry Accessories Part 2 - stitched on 9 3/4” x 9 3/4” piece of Strathaven Natural 35/36 weave. Design size is 3 3/4” x 3 3/4”.  Used a variety of Au Ver A Soie colors to complete this design. The box is ready to host the beeswax waxer that is included with this chart.


 

 

 


 

 


Strawberry Accessories Part 3 - the last in the series....stitched on  5” x 7” piece of Strathaven Natural Linen 35/36 weave. Materials from Access Commodities and The Caron Collection.
Strawberry Box and Accessories -  This kit comes with hand painted wooden shaker box.  Box size 5" x 4" width and 2 1/4" height.  Supplies included in the kit  are as follows:  DMC Thread, Wool from National Nonwovens and Mill Hill Beads.

 Needleworker will need to supply Heavy weight Heat and Bond and a #26 sharp needle to finish the accessories.  Templates with stitching and finishing instructions are included with the kit.

Strawberry Purse -  There are two sizes of purse flaps on the template page. The larger template makes a 6” x 7” purse. (A check book can fit in the larger purse.) The smaller template makes a 5 1/4” x 5 1/2” purse. (The smaller purse is fine for an evening bag, or a present for a special little girl.). Includes all of the wool, thread, Vintage Mother of Pearl buttons, and beads to complete the project.

 

Tomatoes and Strawberries - These are hand stitched pin cushions and needle cleaners.  They have been constructed out of wool fabric, with wool stuffing and grit stuffed for the strawberries.  They are also topped off with a wool topper.

Trick Plus One -  The model was stitched on 32 count Black Forest from Lakeside Linens with fibers from Weeks Dye Works, The Gentle Art and embellishments from Just Another Button Company. The design size is approximately 5 “ x 5 1/2”. The purse was stitched on a piece 9 1/2” x 10” piece of linen.
We Three Kings -  The model was stitched on 32 count Lambswool-Wichelt using threads from DMC.  The ornament size is 5 1/4" x 3 1/4".
Winter's Eve -  For pillow base 2 pieces of  16”x  16”  heavy weight Grey Wool will be needed. Tree: Trunk-Hand Dyed Dark Brown wool. Snow: Off-White Hand Dyed Wool. Moon and Stars: Honey Mustard WoolFelt (2105). Birds: Barnyard Red 2205. Tree: Reet’s Relish 2702 Wool from National Nonwoven.
